I feel like we have been gone for so long - some of our ward members have commented that they feel like we are inactive. It is even worse that Anson is in the bishopric and they announce his absence in front of the whole ward when we are gone! We are finally back for the rest of the summer!! We were able to take some time off work and drive almost the whole way across the United States from South to North. (Not as far as my brother's drive from Philladelphia to Utah...36 hours, but I really hate driving in the car so 12 to Arizona is enough for me!) So after a ton of time in the car and many stops throwing our money into gas pumps we have survived to tell you about our vacation.
First we headed down to Arizona to spend time with Anson's family. It was so nice being able to spend time with them and swim in their pool every day! I didn't mind the heat to much (but we weren't running around outside all that much.) Anson was able to help his dad with some of the commercial buildings he is working on, and he really enjoyed that time spent with is Dad. After a few days at the Call home, we went up to the Darger family reunion. Anson had plenty of time and open space to go paintballing with his cousins, which was the highlight of the reunion for him! We spent alot of time with the family and had a really good time!
We don't have very many pictures of our trip but on the way down I was really amazed by Hoover Dam and the new road that they are building over the river. Here are some pictures:
