Hiking "Y" Mountain

Anson has been really wanting to hike to the "Y" - so I finally agreed to go with him! I had done the hike 2 times before and enjoyed it then so I figured the hike wouldn't be too bad. Considering we decided to hike right in the middle of a hot July day, I say we did pretty well. Anson was excited to use the new Camelback backpack he got for his birthday and provided us with pleanty of water to keep us hydrated. I was grateful for the water and was even more grateful when we finally got to the "Y". Aparently I remember the hike being alot easier then it was. It was so fun to be in nature and enjoying eachothers company - away from the mundane things of everyday life. Anson teaches his missionaries that when you climb a mountain, the most time spent is hiking - not sitting at the summit. Some German phrase that means "the way is the goal!" Basically it is fun to see the view from the summit but it is more fun to spend time with the people you love. I really liked that and thought I would share that inspiration from my amazing husband! Here is some photo documentation!

My hiking buddy!

I told you it wasn't an easy hike!

Ok I guess I was pretty pumped - WE DID IT!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that hiking the Y is NOT EASY! (P.S.--I'm glad you two are the new managers...maybe we won't be the only ones shoveling our walks come winter!) :)

So...this is random. You know (or have linked) my brother and sister-in-law, Bryan and Katie Lewis. I served in Berlin with Anson. And randomly (or not so randomly) found your blog!
